Greetings!
It is count down time for Christmas and I hope all of your holiday preparations are going well. My daughter, Mary, and I finally got out today and purchased a wonderful Douglas Fir from Kalchiks. It makes such a difference to have a tree covered with lights and ornaments in our living room. The Wednesday Night Yarn Lover's Night is on hold until we are back into night filled with light, and not darkness and snow. Kathy |
BODEGA
If you want to make a scarf in 20 minutes, this is the yarn to use. I talked about it on my blog, so go there for more information. At this time we are completely out of the yarn, but will receive more on December 21st. You can make two scarves out of one skein and we will sell you half a skein for one scarf. These are some of the available colors.

Silk Splash - handpainted, silk and merino
Kaleidoscope handpainted, superwash merino Knitting Dolly When I was young I had one of these. I made knitted cords and wrapped them around to make hot pads. It is a great way to make i-cords and then turn them into bracelets, flowers, shoe laces, or necklaces.

Tips and Tricks Knitting with dark yarn and having problems seeing your stitches? Put a light colored pillow case on your lap. The dark stitches will stand out. Not knitting with wool because you are afraid of how to wash it? Or just need a refresher? Go to this link for information on how to safely wash your wool. |

Dean Street Hat - Worsted weight cabled hat with either a roll or ribbed brim. Sizes run from child to large adult. Lamb's Pride Worsted, Nature Spun Worsted, and Liberty Wool would work well with this. The pattern is on Ravelry. Felted Teething Rings - I will be a first time grandmother the end of June, so I have been looking more seriously at baby patterns. I happened upon this and what a great idea! Lamb's Pride Worsted and Nature Spun Worsted felt up nicely. Women's Open Palm Mittens - Betsy knitted a sample of this pattern using Mountain Colors Twizzle. If you want a larger size, go with one of our worsted weights. Modern Quilt Wrap- I have lusted after this pattern since I first saw it in Interweave's Folk Style book. Interweave is now offering it as a free pattern. Use our ShiBui Silk Cloud, Kid Seta, and Kid Seta Lux to knit the wrap. And then you can knit the Dip-Dyed Convertible Scarf with your leftovers from the Quilt Wrap. It is a quick knit on size US 11 and is accessible through Ravelry.

Bag Smith
Thanks to a customer that asked for this item- we now carry the Bag Smith Block n Roll. Below is information from our distributor. The Block n Roll is 38" by 50". The Teflon coated surface is heat and water resistant. This allows for steam, wet blocking and pressing. For best results, let your project remain on the mat until it is dry. While Block n Roll is safe to use on most surfaces, it is advised to test a small area before proceeding with your project, especially if using pins. Block n Roll is not to be used as a cutting mat.
Before storing, make sure Block n Roll is completely dry. Starting at the end of the mat that has no fabric ties, begin rolling with the grid pattern on the outside, like a jellyroll. Once the mat is rolled, take one set of ties around the roll, each tie in an opposite direction and make an overhand knot to secure in place. Repeat with the ties at the other end of the mat. Store Block n Roll in a dry place. Due to its rolled up size, it should be easy to find a place to store Block n Roll so it will be readily available when you need it again. Dimensions: 38" W x 50" L opened flat. Rolled size: 38" L x 6" diameter. Material Content: TeflonŽ coated fabric laminated to fire retardant 8mm foam.
While we were looking for the Block and Roll, we also discovered the Project Bag. I like it as it has 17 pockets, including mesh pockets on the inside to hold balls of yarn, needles, stitch markers, scissors and patterns. The bag is constructed of 100% cotton canvas, sits on a sturdy metal stand and has an adjustable shoulder strap. You carry it on your shoulder and when you get to your destination, put it down and it sits on its stand. We have it in black and natural.
Size: 12" H x 12" W x 9" D
