Dawn is a fun and versatile little top that can be knit with alternate colors or in a solid color in Euroflax Linen. This tee shirt is knit in the round, and uses short rowing to create darts for a perfect fit. The neckline is picked up on the wrong side with a backstitch for a neat, professional edge. The Yankee Knitter patterns remind me of fashions from the 50's.   We have a binder full of their patterns - hats, mittens, cardigans, vests and pullovers for children and adults. |

SIDEWALK SALE
Next Friday and Saturday (8-12 and 13), from 9 am until 6 pm, is the sidewalk sale in Suttons Bay. We have a big canopy to keep the sun (or rain) off of us and many good deals.
There will be different yarns on sale out in front of the shoppe and Betsy will be there to help you with any questions you may have.
We have several new yarns coming into the shoppe and need to make room for them, so stop by this coming weekend and see what we have marked down.

Several weeks ago, a lovely man came into the shoppe with these shawl pins and sticks.
They are made out of different woods such as yellowheart, lakeworm, purpleheart, bocate, coco bolo, osage orange, and gaboon ebony.
They have a wonderful sheen and feel smooth to the touch.
While working on my sales tax for last month, I noticed that one of out every three purchases involved needles. Based on that, I put in additional orders with my vendors to bring us back up to stock. More Hiya Hiya needles went out on the floor this Saturday, and Addi and Brittany needles are on their way. We also have the square knitting needles in both double points and circular. And we have crochet hooks in both metal, wood, and the Addi Swing hook which has a metal head and comfortable handle.
Many of us have specific needles and hooks that we prefer to use, so if we are not carrying what you like, please let us know.

I love the texture for Nai-Nai's Favorite Washcloth. Knit it out of our hemp, Euroflax, or cotton.
I sent this pattern to my sister, who is a grandmother. Knit a flowered necklace and bracelet for a young girl. Very colorful and cute! Abloom.
Knit a lace short sleeved cardigan with a DK weight yarn.
For those of you that like Misti Alpaca Handpainted sock yarn, here is a wonderful slip stitch sock pattern from Ravelry. The pattern is toe-up and shows off the handpainting. Alternating Slip-stitch Socks.
Crochet the Claudia Scarf out of fingering yarn. Folks who have used this pattern say it is easy and fun.
The Tunisian Rib Stitch Zipped Sweater is an adult sized crocheted sweater made with worsted weight yarn.

Several years ago Barry Boone opened up a restaurant across the street from the shoppe, bringing with him his close friend Karen Lautner, and daughter Chelsea Boone . And I am so glad they are here.
Everything I have eaten there tastes good. TBA sandwich (turkey, bacon, and avocado), salad with house dressing, prime rib that melts in your mouth, lobster chowder with chunks of lobster, whitefish, and onion rings made from scratch (not frozen). The ladies at the hair salon like the three cheese grilled sandwich. And don't forget their burger.
The service is good with friendly servers. They open at 4 pm and close at 10 pm.
