Greetings!
Hopefully your Thanksgiving will be as wonderful as ours. We will have all of our children at home, plus friends, and I am thrilled.

Patterns

Okay, now I will start talking about Christmas. Here is a quick pattern for a Christmas stocking.
And for you crocheters, a mini stocking.
A mini stocking for the knitters.
Left over sock yarn will make a ball ornament.
You will need to be a Raverly member for the sheep and lamb with coats. This is a great project to make up for a child's toy.
A small sweater ornament.
You can knit this felted card holder out of Burly Spun or two strands of Lamb's Pride Bulky.

Book and DVD Review

The Knitter's Companion by Vicki Square -
This
book is my favorite knitting guide. I had the original version and was pleased when Vicki came out with her updated version. It fits neatly into my knitting bag and has a spiral spine that allows me to open it up and have it lie flat. I use this book for reminders on how to seam (yuck), do buttonholes, increases, decreases, cast -ons, etc. It is a great basic book and every knitter should have one. A Knitting Glossary with Elizabeth Zimmermann & Meg Swansen - This is a DVD that includes 13
ways to cast on, 7 ways to cast off, 15 I-Cord variations, two-color
techniques, Entrelac, Bavarian Twisted Stitch, Buttonholes, Two-End
Knitting, Steeks (crocheted or machine stitched), Weaving, Afterthought
Pockets, Armenian Knitting, Double-Knitting, Jogless knitting,
Trapping, Elizabeth's Percentage System (EPS) and much more.

Plan on 4 hours, if you watch it all in one sitting. I enjoy it as I feel that I am right there, learning from Meg and Elizabeth.

We are still taking donations for Knitting for our Children. People have brought in some very nice hats and scarves, and I know that they will be appreciated.
