Looking for something new to knit? Yarn Hollow's shawl kit is colorful. We also have a new worsted weight yarn, Ty Dy, which is 100% cotton and perfect for the hot weather which will be here in another month. Hemp and linen are other yarns that are good for summer garments.
Or take some time to learn something different and sign up for Yarn Hollow's color class on Saturday, June 20.
Let us help you pick out a fun project for the summer. Ask Betsy, Cindy, Ruth, and Doreen to walk you through our books, patterns, and gorgeous yarn. We also have lots of samples in the shoppe that you may try on. Give us a reason to talk to you about our passion!
And just a reminder that we are continually updating our stock - patterns, notions, books, and yarn.
Knit the summer away.

World Wide Knit in Public Day
Saturday, June 13,2009 10 am - 6 pm
Stop
by the shoppe on WWKIP day and celebrate knitting with us. Bring a
chair, and if you wish - a dish to pass. If the weather is nice we will
be sitting outside.
We will be keeping it low-key, just a day to sit
with other knitters and enjoy. There will also be yarn available to
knit a covering for our lamp pole.

Feel the Color
Saturday, June 20th, from 10 am until 2 pm Rita Petteys from Yarn Hollow
$40.
Register by Thursday, June 18
Do you wonder which colors go together? Want to learn how to
refine your color sense? Why do some color combinations
work better than others?
We'll be discussing the color wheel, shades, tint tones,
and how they all fit into dyeing, knitting, spinning and carding.
This class will help fiber artists hone their color skills through
the concepts of hue, value, shade/tint/tone, color undertones, etc. Tools
available will be the color wheel, gray scale, and various photos
and books to examine. There will also be yarn on hand with which to work.

We have several kits of Skacel's Booby Sock.
I have taken this directly from the Skacel site: Breast cancer is a subject that hits close to home for many of us. In
an attempt to assist the ongoing battle to find a cure, we are proud to
introduce the "Booby Sock". The Booby Sock will only be offered in
kits, with a limited supply of kits available. All net proceeds from
the sale of these sock kits will go to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer
Research Center. The kits are comprised of limited edition "Pink Ribbon
Trekking XXL" yarn (dyed solely for this kit and only available in the
kits), a pattern, decorative beads. The design was created by the one and only 'Chappy', and represents the
following: the top section represents foot steps "walking for a cure".
The second band has pink ribbons on it. The third band is the "healthy
boob band" and represents healthy breasts. The fourth band is called
the "mammy boob band" and represents squashed breasts getting a
mammogram. You then turn your heel, make your gussets...and when you get
to the toe...you have a "star toe" since all women are "stars" in their
own right. The finishing of the toe produces a nipple shape to complete
the Booby Sock.TY-DY SOCKS: soft to the touch and perfect for

Free Patterns
Chrissy Gardiner has a new toe-up sock book that will be available in August! As a teaser, she is allowing us to downlead one of the patterns beforehand. Click here to see Sydney, a cute pattern for newborns using Tofutsies. Saartjes booties are one of the cutest patterns around. Baby Ull, with all our colors, would be a great yarn for this pattern. Have some free time? Make up some of these hats for a hospital in your area. Buttons or Baby Ull would be a good pick. This lace top would be really cute in the new colors we just got in for the SWTC Bamboo yarn.
