Thanks to a good friend who used to be the Opal distributor in the US, we received a box of over 126 skeins of Opal sock yarn.

Sunday, March 1 starts our sale. All Opal 6 ply yarn for $20.00 and all of the rest of the Opal sock yarn is $13.00. The sales is on until 4 pm on Sunday, March 8.

Hats on to You!

As you can see, folks have been having fun knitting the hats for our county road workers. As of this date, we have 28 hats. Once they are all turned in, I will place pictures of everyone on the blog.
If you are working on a hat, please get it back to us so that we can take them over to the road commission next week.

Sock Class

Wednesdays, March 11, 18, 25 6 pm - 8:30 pm $40.00
Betsy,
our sock knitter guru, is teaching a class on how to knit a sock. She
will focus on using the Magic Loop method. You may also use
double-points, 12" circulars, or 2 circulars if you prefer.
Prerequisites: cast on, knit, purl, bind off.
Needles and yarn are extra; 10% discount when purchasing for the class.
Payment is due when registering for the class. No refunds.

Knitting by the Bay 2009, Lace Workshop

April 17, 18, and 19 Bayshore Resort
We are bringing Amy Detjen back to teach us lace knitting. The agenda will run
similar to last year's in that Amy will arrive Thursday afternoon and
leave Sunday afternoon. That gives us a little extra time to bend her
ear.
Amy
is a technical editor at Schoolhouse Press, helps Meg Swanson teach
knitting at the Schoolhouse Press knitting camps, has had her designs
published in Sweaters from Camp and A Gathering of Lace
and writes technical articles for Knitter's magazine. Amy is
knowledgeable, enthusiatic, positive, and fun. You will come away from
this retreat challenged and full of fresh new ideas.
Thursday 5 pm on (social time) Friday 9 am until 4:30 pm Saturday 9 am until 4:30 pm Sunday 9 am until noon
Skill level is beyond beginner.
Tuition is $195. The cost includes lunch and dinner on Friday, lunch on Saturday, and snacks for all three days.
The motel rooms are $90 per night. Each room may have up to 4 people, for that price, per room.
Class size is limited to 25.

Shawl or Lace Knit Along

Want
to knit a shawl or something lacy, but not sure how to do it? Starting
Saturday, March 7, we will have a KAL. You pick your project and your
yarn and then join us to work on it. We will provide help and
support. This will be ongoing. No deadlines. No need to sign
up, just show up.
