Summer Camp
When you read this e-news letter many of our LifeBridge kids will have been to camp, some will be at camp and still others will be excitedly waiting for "their" week at summer camp. This year 19 of our kids will get to experience a week at Mahoning Valley. Camp is a great time for young people to experience and satisfy their need for physical activity, creative expression and true participation in a safe community environment. The atmosphere of faith at Mahoning Valley Camp is one in which children learn about God, the Bible and about living, working, and playing together. Additionally, campers will get a chance to experience the beauty of God's creation. In past years several LifeBridge kids have accepted Jesus at camp and many have formed deep friendships with Christian kids. |

HIStory Day Camp
Learning that history is really God's Story
Each week LifeBridge kids enrolled in our HIS tory day camp are going back in time to learn about history, from creation to America and Indiana history. But it is more than a history lesson because the kids are learning how history is really all a part of GOD's story!
The children spend part of their day in storytelling, reading groups, Bible lessons and discussions. Each age group has a different Surprise field trip every week to such places as The Children's Museum, Conner Prairie, The Indianapolis Zoo, a dairy farm etc. On July 12th the 7th - 9th graders will be visiting the Underground Railway Museum in Cincinnati.
Each day of the program breakfast, lunch and transportation to and from HIStory Camp are all provided free of charge.
Funding for HIStory Camp was provided by grants from Lilly Endowment Summer Youth Program and Ronald McDonald House Charities. |

Time With Adult Mentors
Many of our adult volunteers are spending time continuing positive mentoring relationships with the kids that they have been working with during the school year. Here is one example of the positive relationships that are happening this summer.
Jim Hill, one our volunteers is a tractor pulling enthusiast. This summer he is taking LifeBridge boys to organized tractor pulls where they compete in garden tractor pulling. The boys get a priceless opportunity to do something very positive, learn some things about mechanics and competition but mostly they get to spend time with a young Christian mentor who cares about them. |

Backpacks of Love
For the past 8 years LifeBridge provides area students with backpacks and school supplies that they need when school starts. Over the years Backpacks of Love has grown from 50 backpacks to this year's goal of over 400.
This year LifeBridge is partnering with Beech Grove Schools. The event will be held at the Sarah T. Bolton park on Saturday, August 6th.
Several area churches and groups are joining with LifeBridge to make this event a great success. We need your help to meet this year's need.
We need 100 people who will give $15.00 to purchase supplies for a backpack.
