Greetings!
Greetings from Maryknoll!
We are at that time of the year when we remember those who've gone before. On a personal level we bring to mind the members of our family and friends who have died. On a community level, as Church, we turn our attention to the communion of saints, our brothers and sisters that now experience God from the other side of death.
Within our Maryknoll family we remember all those pioneers and guides that carried the mission of Christ to the far reaches of the planet. A couple of weeks of ago, we gathered back at Maryknoll, NY for our national mission education and promotion assembly. We not only looked back on our rich history, but also at the challenges and opportunities that confront us today. For our team here in the west, we renewed our commitment to help engage people in the global reality and explore new and exciting ways to carry on the mission of God to bring love to the world.
We have some interesting gatherings coming up and invite you to join us. On Monday, November 2nd we'll celebrate All Souls Day with the movie, "Day of the Dead," a look at the Latin American celebration of El Día de los Muertos. The following week at our Mission Forum, on Tuesday, Nov. 10th, Maryknoll Affiliate Lisa Kosiewicz will share about her short term mission adventures in a parish in Peru. And at the end of the month, we will take our show on the road and will be at the Faith Formation Conference at the Santa Clara Conference Center, where we will have an exhibit and host 4 workshops. Details on all the events are below.
We look forward to seeing you soon.
Wishing you peace on behalf of the Mission Team,
Deacon Matt

Those coming to the Bible for the first time, as well as those looking for a new method of listening to the ancient story, will find this an accessible and engaging overview of some of Scriptures' great themes.
Camille's new book, "Listening to God's Word," published by our own ORBIS books, will be available at the conference at 40% off. SESSION 7 12:45-2:00 PM 7-05 Ruth Picha and Jane Easterly Living and Teaching the Beatitudes The wisdom of the Beatitudes forms the foundation for Christian life and invites us to be in solidarity with others. Using contemporary images, this workshop will first explore the spirituality of these timeless teachings and then examine practical ways of incorporating them in the faith formation process.

Retired after 43 years in the transportation industry, she continues her Spiritual Direction practice, is a Secular Augustinian, serves as the RCIA Director at her parish. She is also active in the Cursillo community and Kairos prison work, and serves in various outreach programs and facilitates retreats.
