| Greetings! |

During November, it is our tradition to remember those who have gone before us. We ask that you keep in your prayers all our Maryknoll Missioners who have died. As a daily reminder, Kris has put together an Altar of the Dead in our Regional Chapel. Stop by to see the altar, add the remembrances of your deceased loved ones and pray for them and all the faithfully departed. It will be up through Thanksgiving.
We had a great Mission Sunday Celebration in Arroyo Grande. Check out the pictures. Also , we've added a blog at http://maryknollwest.blogspot.com to start an ongoing discussion of mission related matters, entitled so cleverly, "Mission Matters." Please check it out and add your posts.
Don't forget the Mission Forum next Tuesday with Carmen Matty, a returned Lay Missioner from Tanzania...more details below.
Peace,
Matt for the Regional Team

| New Deacons to do Mission Work |
|
During their formation for the permanent diaconate, Herb and Peggy Casey and Clem and Gladys Chen did their Charity and Justice Internships with Maryknoll. They caught the mission bug and became Maryknoll Affiliates when their field placement was finished.
On November 1st, after more than 5 years of formation, Herb and Clem were ordained. While both will be assigned to local parishes, their love for the missions will take on new dimensions. Herb will work with us as a mission promoter in the Bay Area. He will give presentations on mission to school and parish groups and preach at mission appeals. Clem and Gladys will spend up to three months a year in short term mission in Southeast Asia working with Maryknoll missioners. During the rest of the year Clem will also give presentations and promote mission in Northern California and his home country of Singapore.
Congratulations to the new deacon couples and thanks to God for their willingness to serve as missionaries.
