Greetings!

In a week from Sunday, we will be joining the entire Church in celebrating Mission Sunday.  As Pope Benedict says in his Mission Sunday message:  mission is a question of love.  We celebrate the  love that has been shared with us and in turn share it with others.

We'll be celebrating Mission Sunday in the San Luis Obispo area with a Mass and dinner to thank our supporters there and launch our newest Maryknoll Affiliate group that is forming on the Central Coast.

Last month we shared our plans for reorganization and introduced you to our new Associate Director Fr. Steve Booth in Seattle.  This month we introduce our new Associate Director in the LA area, Fr. Joe Donovan.  We are very excited to have this great team up and running!

We hope to see you next Tuesday at this month's Mission Forum, which will feature Fr. Pete Ruggere who will be with us on October 14th at 7:30 pm to talk about "What's Happening in the Holy Land?"  Next month we will hear from Lay Missioner Carmen Matty about her work in Tanzania.

Wishing you Christ's peace,
Matt and the Regional Team

Maryknoll Reorganizes Mission Education & Promotion Efforts in the Western U.S.

In order to better serve the local church in promoting mission and more efficiently use our resources, we're reorganizing our mission education and promotion efforts in the West.  Beginning September 1st, we will work as a Regional Team to promote mission in the Western U.S.

Our efforts will be coordinated primarily from our Regional Center in the SF Bay Area with Mission Center Offices in Seattle and Los Angeles.  We also plan to have a Maryknoll presence in Honolulu and Denver.

The team will be led by Deacon Matt Dulka as Regional Director in the Bay Area and Fathers Steve Booth in Seattle and Joe Donovan in Los Angeles as Associate Regional Directors.
