Torontonians will have the opportunity to see the Olympic Torch Relay from December 17 to 19 as it travels across the country leading up to the Opening Ceremonies of the 2010 Winter Games in Vancouver. All Torontonians are invited to join in celebrating the Olympic Flame and showing support for our Canadian athletes
The Olympic Flame will be in Toronto from December 17 to 19. During the three days, approximately 1,000 Torchbearers will carry the Torch for 48 kilometres through city streets.
On Friday morning, December 18, at approximately 8:00 am (the official expected time is 8:17 am), the Olympic Flame will be carried around Thorncliffe Park Drive by the designated torch runner for that segment. The runner will come from Millwood and turn east onto Overlea. They will turn on to Thorncliffe Park Drive at the Petro-Canada side and run along the entire street. At the eastern end, they will turn east back onto Overlea and head over to Don Mills Road.

Join the party at Scarborough Civic Centre
On December 17, the Flame will stop at the Scarborough Civic Centre, 150 Borough Drive, at 3 p.m. Torontonians are invited to come down to celebrate. Beginning at 1 p.m. there will be entertainment including buskers, musicians, a sledge hockey demonstration and more.
Celebrate the Flame at Nathan Phillips Square
The Community Celebration at Nathan Phillips Square, 100 Queen St. W. runs from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and showcases a number of special performances by dancers, musicians and acrobats that will appeal to all ages. Toronto's Final Torchbearer, Olympic medal winner Vicky Sunohara, will light the cauldron. The evening will conclude with an amazing fireworks display.
