Formation of Teams
At the end of this month, the players will be divided into teams. The teams will play games against each other within their age group starting in July. If any players want to be on the same team as a friend or a brother/sister, please let us know by Saturday June 27. All players must be in the same age group and we will do our best to accomodate these requests, but make no guarantees. Please let us know by email or by writing the names down and giving us the paper on any of the activity days up to Saturday June 27th.
Sponsorships
The league is looking for businesses and organizations that would be interested in sponsoring a team so that we can provide team t-shirts to the players. If your organization or business would be interested in sponsoring a team, please contact any of Satinder, Raees, or Ovais. Contact information is at the end of this email.
At this time, we would like to acknowledge and thank those who have agreed to sponsor a team so far:
Nepean City Soccer Association
Carol Parkers Consulting
Iqbal Halal Foods
Fundraising
As you are aware, there is no fee for the children to play in the league. However, the league does have some expenses to cover and thus donations in any amount would be appreciated to help cover the costs of items such as balls, pylons, activities, whistles, clipboards, printing, etc. If you would like to make a donation to help support the league, you may do so by writing a cheque payable to Thorncliffe Soccer Club and giving it to Satinder, Raees, or Ovais.
Attire
While players are welcome to wear the clothing that is most comfortable for them to play soccer in, we recommend that they not wear jeans as they can restrict their movement.
Running shoes or soccer cleats are a must.
If you have cleats or other soccer equipment that your children have outgrown and you would like to donate them for use by another child, please let us know.
Water
It is very important that each player bring water with them to avoid becoming dehydrated. This is even more important for the boys who play on Saturdays. The water bottle should have the player's name on it.
