This sweltering, sticky weather is perfect for sitting quietly in the air-condtioned indoors, isn't it, and reading a good book?
In just a few short days, on August 25th, we'll convene at 7:00 p.m. to discuss " Drowning Ruth ," written by Christina Schwarz. This debut novel by Schwarz, which begins in 1919, is an engrossing suspense story that centers around a family in rural Wisconsin and how their lives unfold when one of them, a young mother, drowns in a lake. The point of view in the story skips back and forth, told in the voices of several main characters.
The Barnes and Noble website offers this Reading Group Guide
along with other background material about the author and the novel.
