 First Things First
Dear Friends,
I have some exciting news and an invitation to share with you as we begin the New Year!
In each of our worship services starting THIS WEEKEND, January 8-9, and throughout the various ministries of our church with children, youth, and adults through the end of February, we will experience a new spiritual growth emphasis called "First Things First." It will be an overview of what it means to be a "faithful follower of Jesus Christ" and bring us back to the first principles that can help us to grow forward, both as individuals and as a congregation. The topics will focus on our five primary purposes or values: Worship, Connect, Grow, Serve, and Share. This series will make a difference in your life...and in our church.
I encourage you to come each weekend and be a part of "First Things First."
Also, if you are not yet involved in a Small Group, this is an ideal time to begin. In addition to our many small groups and classes, we are starting TEN new "First Things First" Small Groups the week after Jan. 8-9 to discuss and apply the weekend message. Small groups help you to connect with God and others. Here's how you can connect to a small group:
1) Sign up at the Small Groups table after worship services.
2) Fill out the Small Group information on your worshiper's Registration Card.
3) Call Jerry Costley in the church office at 714-528-6496.
4) Go to the "Small Groups" page at www.rdf.org.
Please pray with me that "First Things First" will encourage us where we need to be encouraged and stretch us where we need to be stretched. I'm praying that we will not be the same at the end of February as we are today!
Wanting to put First Things First,
Jim Le Shana
P.S. Thank you for praying and inviting family and friends recently to the Christmas Eve Candlelight Services...over 4200 people came! Also, thank you for being a faithful and generous congregation...although I don't have the final numbers yet, it appears that we finished the year in the black in our general fund while giving to Missions and Building Bridges was also strong. Praise the Lord!
