Dave Ramsey's Financial Peace University
Learn how to beat debt, build savings, and give generously! The next class will start Wednesday, September 15, from 7:00-8:30 p.m.  A preview will be held  Wednesday, September 8 at 7:00 p.m. in the Fireside Room. Over 200 people have benefitted from the class so far this year. Contact Judi in the church office or visit rdf.org for additional information.
 
The Good and Faithful Servant Join us on September 15 for a 7-week study focusing on the issues and obligations we face as citizens of this world and the Kingdom of God.  Requested donation: $15/book. There will be required advance reading of 6-8 pages per week. Questions? Contact Judi in the church office.
 
AlphaAlpha Basics: Is there more to life than this? Come experience community at Alpha as you explore this question, who Jesus is, and the Christian faith in a non-judgmental and gracious environment. Already a Christian? Come be renewed, grow in your faith and with the Holy Spirit. Alpha Basics Course meets on Wednesdaysfrom 7:00-8:30 p.m., September 15-November 17, in Room E108. A delicious dessert is served weekly. September 7: UPWARD BASKETBALL is a developmental league for boys and girls in grades 1-6 where biblical principles are taught alongside basketball fundamentals. Online registration starts September 7 and runs through November 5. The $90 player fee includes your child's shirt, shorts, basketball, and Upward materials. September 10: Men's Breakfast The first Friday of every month, at 6:15 a.m. in the Ministry Center Building (Building E), men are invited to an all-you-can-eat breakfast. September 14 /16: LADIES'RENEWED & THURSDAY EVENING BIBLE STUDIES Renewed begins Tuesday, September 14, 9:15-11:30 a.m. in Room E108. Join us to study Here and Now...There and Then by Beth Moore, a study on the book of Revelation. If you are interested in studying the Bible with women of all ages, come give us a try. Childcare and children's programs are provided. This session runs 9/14-11/30. The cost is $20/semester. Books will be available at the first session. We will also offer the same curriculum on Thursday evenings9/16-12/2, from 7:00-8:30 p.m. at the Evangelical Friends Church Southwest (EFCSW) office. September 15: LADIES' ReJOYce BIBLE STUDY This interdenominational Bible study, open to all women, resumes Wednesday, September 15. Join us as we study the books of Exodus and Ruth. We have a small group time, music and worship time, lectures by different Bible teachers and pastors each week, and luncheons each month. September 15: THE LADIES' READING GROUP will start a new book on September 15, God Wrote A Book by James MacDonald.  The group meets on Wednesday mornings from 9:30-11:30 a.m. in the Prayer Room.  There is no homework; childcare is provided.  Contact Sylvia Summers at 714.693.1121.
 
September 15: Post-Abortion Support Group: Are you experiencing feelings of regret, guilt, shame from having had an abortion? It may have occurred only weeks ago, or several years ago and the sadness is not going away. If you need to talk with someone who understands on a personal level, please call Nancy (714.398.1968) or Joetta (714.273.1890). These women have walked the path from abortion to healing and forgiveness.
 
September 18: Bridal Shower:
A Bridal Shower for Brittany Hillquist (fiancé Zach Pettikas) will be held Saturday, September 18, at 1:30 p.m. in the Fireside Room. Brittany and Zach are registered at Macy's, Target, Bed, Bath, & Beyond, and Pottery Barn. Home colors are black and white with touches of red, blue, and yellow. September 19: Newcomers' BBQ: If you have just started coming to Rose Drive in the past few months, the Newcomers' BBQ is for you! Our next Newcomers' BBQ is scheduled for Sunday, September 19, from 12:00 p.m.-1:30 p.m. in the Fireside Room. The BBQ will give you a chance to meet some of the church leadership and others who have recently been coming to church here. Kids are welcome! September 30: Grief Support will begin a new 8-week session on Thursday, September 30, and meets from 7:00-8:30 p.m. in the Fireside Room. This group provides a helpful and healing experience for those going through the grief process. To register, please call Judi in the church office (714.528.6496).
 
Conversation Cafe

Donations please:The church library would love to have donations of books (especially children's books), CDs, and DVDs. This would be much appreciated for our next book sale. Drop your donations off at the church library (open after every service) or the church office (during the week).
 
Our church pantry is in need of donations of peanut butter, jelly/jam, canned beans, tuna helper, canned meals, plain rice (i.e. not Rice a Roni-type), canned fruit, and spaghetti pasta. Please leave donations on the church patio on Sunday mornings or in the church office during the week. These items and others are given to people who visit the church office asking for assistance.

PRIMETIME LIFETIME LEARNING SERIES & LUNCH (50+) Join us as we are continuing in our lecture and DVD presentation From Yao to Mao: 5000 Years of Chinese History, Thursdays, Sept. 9, 23, 30, Oct. 14, 28, and Nov. 11 at 11:00 a.m. in the Center Bldg. LADLife after Divorce
 Life after Divorce
Tuesday, September 14, 7:00-9:00 p.m. Singles Ministry will launch a new 8-week program called Life after Divorce. The course will include DivorceCare® curriculum, an evening with an MFT, and conclude with a panel discussion with a family attorney and therapist. DivorceCare for Kids (DC4K®) will be available for children 5-12. (There will be no childcare for children under 5.) The cost is $30/adult and $15/child. Workbook and weekly dinner are included. Mom's ConnectionMomconnectionMom's Connection is a NEW program for Moms of preschoolers. Get together every other week with moms who share a similar desire to be the very best mom they can be! Come and join other mothers of little ones (from newborn-six years of age) and take time to rejuvenate and renew yourself through speakers, crafts, and discussing all the treasures of motherhood. While you enjoy a welcome break, your child can also participate in this fun and exciting program.

 Children's Wednesday Nights
AWANA 
AWANA registration has begun!
Awana is an exciting program for children, Nursery* through 5th grade, that meets Wednesday nights from 7:00 p.m.-8:30 p.m. beginning September 15. 
 
Your children will enjoy playing games on our Awana tarp (which is half the size of the gym), learning teamwork, singing praises to God, strengthening their spiritual walk, earning awards for Bible memorization, and feeling a sense of accomplishment.  Download the registration form and read additional information on our web site at rdf.org in the Children's Ministry section under "Awana."  Turn in your registration forms to the church office.
 
Cost: $50/year per child age 3 years and up ($25/semester). (*The Puggles Program for Nursery through age 2, and for which there is no cost, is for only children whose parents are on campus.)
 
Volunteers Needed - We have over 200 children who register for our Wednesday night Awana program each year and we need your help. You can help as a Listener, Small Group Leader, Worship Leader, Teacher for Large Group Lesson, Game Coordinator, Snack helper, or Office helper. You can serve in one of the following Clubs: Puggles (Infants to 2 years olds), Cubbies (3 & 4 year olds), Sparks (K-2nd grade), or Truth and Training (3rd-5th grade).
