DOWNTOWN RECOGNITION AWARD
Rochester Bloomers

Rochester Bloomers

The Rochester Borough Development Corporation (RBDC) has chosen the Rochester Bloomers, Betty Murtha and Carol Kisella as its 3rd Quarter Downtown Recognition recipients for 2011.  Betty and Carol are being recognized for the wonderful spirit of volunteerism and as leaders in our community.

Betty and Carol have planted flower planters in Rochester with seasonal flowers for many years.  This effort has inspired a host of other Rochester businesses to keep up the beautification of the town by maintaining their planters each season.  Individual attention to these kinds of details in our downtown is what is needed toward our goal of making Rochester a more attractive place to live and shop.

Carol and Betty have also been an integral part of many important community life activities in town.   Through their efforts, Rochester has enjoyed revitalization in the areas of business development and community life.
ROUNDABOUT COMPLETED
Roundabout

With nearly 600 cars per hour avoiding driving through downtown Rochester, it is with great relief to have the roundabout project completed. The roundabout officially opened to traffic at the end of July and now will draw traffic and attention back to town. This is a perfect opportunity for businesses to attract more customers. The roundabout eliminates traffic signals, stop signs and left turns against traffic. It will also greatly reduce traffic accidents and improve safety. The goal is for some of the growth from the BCTA improvements and ridership to spill into our mix of retail and restaurants downtown and ultimately spur a revitalization of our downtown.

DOWNTOWN ROCHESTER E-NEWSLETTER

You are reading the Rochester FOCUS: your quarterly downtown e-newsletter. By using e-newsletters instead of print newsletters, we can send the information about our downtown revitalization efforts to a greater number of people and save paper--a win for the community and the environment!

To receive your copy of the e-newsletter via email, simply send an email to tca@towncenter.info and indicate your email address, as well as the name of the town or towns for which you'd like to receive the e-newsletters. You can also call Town Center Associates to sign up at 724-728-9400.

Please also take a moment to forward this email along to your friends, colleagues, family and neighbors, and encourage them to sign up today! This will help to inform (and involve) more citizens about the revitalization efforts taking place in our downtown.

This e-newsletter is brought to you by the Beaver County Community Development Program (CDP).

Town Center Associates (TCA) created this e-newsletter for CDP for your downtown, as one of the many services TCA has been contracted to provide to the downtowns in the Beaver County Main Street Network. For more information, please visit:
