DOWNTOWN RECOGNITION AWARD
Friends of Old Economy Village
The Ambridge Downtown Development Council has chosen the Friends of Old Economy Village as its 1st Quarter Downtown Recognition recipient for 2011. This group of hard-working, dedicated volunteers is being recognized for the outstanding efforts put forth to keep Old Economy Village open. Because of state budget cuts, this historic facility was scheduled to close. But thanks to the efforts of Kevin Flannery, President of the Friends of Old Economy, organization members, House Representative Robert Matzie and Senator Elder Vogel, Old Economy Village remains open to the public. The ADDC expresses sincere appreciation to everyone who worked so tirelessly to keep our historic treasure functioning and allowing its visitors a fascinating glimpse of a unique society.
The Friends of Old Economy Village was also honored as an Outstanding Community Organization at this year's Celebration of Efforts event held on January 20th at Franzee's Banquet Hall.

The Committee to Clean and Beautify Ambridge is a group of hard-working volunteers who donate hundred of hours to make sure our community is free of litter, graffiti, and other unsightly conditions. Someone in our community is striving to undo everything we have worked to improve and we are asking for your help.
The CCBA is offering a reward for the arrest and conviction of the person responsible for the graffiti in town. Please contact Ambridge police with information: 724-266-3270.
Let's not let one person destroy the strides we have made over the past several years. Show your community pride and help us find and prosecute this individual.
