DOWNTOWN RECOGNITION AWARD
Rhoda and Donald Worf
Worf

The Verona Business District Authority has chosen Rhoda and Donald Worf for their outstanding contributions to Verona.  Their tireless energy and community-oriented goals have made them a big asset to our downtown. They helped spearhead our greatly appreciated History Center, along with bringing thousands of dollars in grants for Verona.   Rhoda and Donald have recently opened the Boulevard Gallery that gives local artists a place to display their talents.  Rhoda is also a Verona Councilperson.

In addition to Rhoda and Don's accomplishments for our town, they were instrumental in our after-Christmas tree burning, VIP committee, Garden club and our Verona newsletter. They also started the Verona Flea Market and Farmers' Market. Thanks to Don we will be having a new web site. It's dedicated people like these that help make our town special!

SUNFLOWER GARDEN PROJECT

This past summer, the Verona Business District Authority became involved in the Sunflower Garden Project.  An available lot of undeveloped land in the downtown business district was used to plant sunflowers. At the end of the season, the plants were harvested, with the seeds being used for food and other parts of the plant for bio-fuel.  Shown below are highlights of this project.

PHLF UPDATE REGARDING ALLEGHENY RESTORES

It's been a busy summer and fall throughout the Allegheny Together communities. Business and building owners are completing façade improvement projects both big and small, special events brought residents and new visitors alike to the downtowns, and new businesses are cropping up everywhere. It has been an exciting few months and as the weather gets colder, PHLF is available to assist you in a variety of ways. This is the perfect time to plan a façade project, and we're here to help you understand the Allegheny Restores application process and help generate ideas for specific improvements to your building. We also have free interior design assistance available from a roster of experienced design professionals that can help you create eye-catching window displays, maximize interior layout, and assist with merchandising so special items are highlighted.

In the New Year, we're looking forward to continuing the great momentum that each community has made and build upon it. If you are a merchant or property owner located in one of the Allegheny Together downtowns, please get in touch with us. There is valuable assistance available to you and we are eager to assist you. Town Center Associates offers a way for building owners to reach potential buyers and tenants.

The website downtownproperties.net offers up-to-date information on all of the commercial storefronts in your town available for sale or lease, in nearly thirty communities in Beaver, Allegheny and Lawrence counties.  This FREE service allows owners to "list" their available storefronts that are for sale or lease, and provides a photo of the property, the address, and appropriate contact information.

For further information, contact Town Center Associates at 724-728-0500.
