The Mendocino Railway and Sunshine Rafting Adventures team up to offer guests a truly unique way to experience the Sierra Nevada foothills on weekends, via train and raft. The Rail & Raft Trip begins in Oakdale aboard the Sierra Railroad Daylight Train. Passengers enjoy a leisurely two hour ride and a delicious box lunch as they travel through the Stanislaus River Valley. Following the rail excursion, Sunshine Rafting Adventures takes over with an easy guide-assisted float trip down the Stanislaus River. The float trip from Knights Ferry to Orange Blossom Park offers rafters an ideal vantage point to view scenic spots such as "Two Bluffs" volcanic area and "Lover's leap," plus a variety of wildlife and several species of birds. We usually need you to be at Orange Blossom Park by 9:45am to begin your day with a short 10 minute shuttle ride to the train. You will then ride the train to Knights Ferry, raft down the Stanislaus river and finish your rafting trip back where you left your car.
Ticket: $58 + service charge & taxes.
Ticket Upgrade: $14 + tax.
Ticket upgrade includes priority boarding, drink, and a box lunch. |

Wild West Lunch

Hide your belongings 'cause outlaws are hiding out along the railroad! When your depot is located in "The Cowboy Capital of the World," you're bound to come across a cowpoke or two. And now, the Wild West comes alive aboard the Sierra Railroad during this luncheon showdown, complete with western characters, outlaws and a gunfight. These trips are enjoyable for the whole family and also have a Rail & Raft option available.

Treat Dad to an enjoyable and carefree day aboard the Sierra. Trip includes 3-hour train ride and delicious brunch. During this scenic trip you are welcome to explore the train and spend time in the dining coaches or lounge car.
