The Ferret Squad Producers are seeking funding for a new movie - "The Ferret Squad." The film is about a young boy named Max, who smuggles his pet ferret into the state of California. He befriends a group of kids who run an underground ferret rescue and adoption organization, while living under the eye of an employee of California Fish and Game. But when his secret is exposed, Max must fight for what he loves, or lose his beloved pet forever. Producers are hoping to raise at least $40,000 before June 10. They are also hoping that the film will help educate people. Why? Well, it is illegal to own ferrets in California and has been since 1933. There have been several bills proposed to change the restrictions, but none have passed. Want more information about California's restrictions? Visit Dept. of Fish and Game for details on the state's position and LegalizeFerrets.com's website for details on why some support changing the state's regulations. *NAVTA does not endorse the movie or either group. |
