Welcome Fall!
Fall is one of our favorite times of year here at American Mothers, Inc. The cooler weather, the changing of the leaves... These are just some of the things we enjoy about this season. But in addition to the changes in weather and scenery, fall also marks the start of our search process, and this year we are even more excited to honor moms with our new Mother of Achievement award as well as our annual Mother of the Year and Young Mother of the Year honors! Years ago my Newsweek magazine sucked me in the instant it surfaced through the mail with it's image of a mother holding a baby and smiling at me from the cover. She was super-imposed with six extra arms, each one doing some sort of motherhood task. The words "The Myth of the Perfect Mother" stretched out above this mother, who seemed to be just that: quite perfect...as long as she could keep those six extra arms....»
