Members Want to Know
Fellow Facility Managers:

Does anyone's Emergency/Crisis Response Plans include procedures for a facility lock-down as a safety precaution due to an imminent criminal threat (i.e. someone running around with a gun)? I know that school's have specific procedures in place for this type of emergency, however, I'm wondering if any Recreation Centers have articulated this in their response plans. We were just added to our city's Emergency E-mail alert system and need to consider how we would react in this type of situation. Any insight is greatly appreciated.

Boulder Country Club is very excited to open its newly renovated athletic facility.  The building will feature two new locker rooms for men and women, a new smoothie bar and lounge, new cardio and group exercise rooms, a new massage program, renovated weight room and more space!  A new group exercise program is also being instituted, which was to include spinning classes.  Unfortunately, it has been difficult locating any used spins bikes to purchase.

Please contact Chris Justice
[email protected] if you have any spin bikes that you are looking to sell.  Thanks in advance!

Hello CPRA Members,
I had a question about 'geese herding'.  I've heard that some golf courses and parks in the Denver area are looking for people with dogs who can chase geese off the property.  I have a Border Collie that is training in sheep herding and thought that this sounded like something we would love to do.
Do you know of any need for this at any of the parks, rec centers or golf courses and who I could contact?  Thank you in advance for any advise you can offer.
Sincerely,
Sarha Gross

What a Great Idea!
As you plan your 'corporate gifts and give aways' this year - you know, those goodie baskets, gifts and cards you send your favorite vendors and corporate friends every year - consider donating those funds to a good cause instead!  Send a nice written note letting them know that you've donated x-amount to your favorite non-profit or charity in their name.  They'll appreciate your thoughtfulness and the non-profit will 'profit' from the donation.

Need a non-profit to donate to?  Consider the CPRA Foundation!  As a 501c3 non-profit, we'll gladly accept donations to help build our scholarship and special programs fund.  Need more information about the Foundation?  Contact Stef at [email protected].

Got a great idea you'd like to share?  Send it our way and we'll post it in the next web letter!  Submissions due by the 15th of each month to Ashley at [email protected].
