Welcome/Devotion

Kathi opened the meeting with a devotion and communion. 

 
Minutes of the previous meeting
Due to currently having a GAP in the Chrysalis Board, Meeting Minutes are not available from the last meeting.   Amanda Hickman agreed to take notes from tonights' meeting.
 

Treasurer Report

The Board reviewed the financials provided by Bob Herington in Bill's absence. 

Actual financial report is available upon request by any community member.

Discussion:
OSU concession -- OSU has not yet made the information available if a smaller stand will be available.  We are hoping that the information will be available at the July meeting.  

 
Upcoming Flight

Air Conditioning

It was learned that the air conditioning in the Kitchen Area would not be complete prior to the upcoming weekend.  This raised concern due to the team using this area on an extended term on Sunday Mornings.  2 options were discussed.  The first option was to rent air conditioners at a cost of 1500.00 for both weekends.  The second option was to purchase three 1 1/2 ton air conditioners.  Patti Lewis motioned for the purchase of the Air Conditioners and Kathi Herington 2nd the motion. It was voted unanimously to purchase the Air Conditioners.


Candle Purchase

It was agreed at the previous meeting that 4 cases of candles would be purchased.  It was unclear who was to make the purchase.  Ron England will place the order and be reimbursed by Chrysalis.  It was confirmed there were enough candles for the upcoming candlelight service.  Lilly Robinson will purchase 12 lighters prior to the upcoming Girl's weekend. 


New Business

Honoring Stonybrook UMC
Discussion was held concerning honoring Stonybrook.  Additional notes will be added once Stonybrook has been honored.

Additional conversation was held and decided a meeting should be held with Stonybrook UMC Leadership and the Chrysalis Leadership to ensure Chrysalis is on the radar as Stonybrook experiences growth.  The Chrysalis Board had had Karen Brantley representing Chrysalis to the Stonybrook UMC leadership in conjunction with being the Children's Pastor, however since her term has expired we now need to ensure we continue having open dialogue between the two ministries.  It was suggested a bi-annual meeting be arranged.

Technology Needs
As Stonybrook UMC grows and we share more of the facilities on a given weekend it is becoming evident that Chrysalis may want to consider investing in their own technology resourses. 

Some of the items for consideration are:
  • Laptop Computer (For shared use on the weekends and maintaining the database and the electronic applications).  Ron England to provide a list of needs to Bob Herington who has a Dell contact.
  • Portable Video Projector - In the event the projector currently used in the conference center would no longer be available.  The current projector that Chrysalis owns is bulky and showing signs of dispair.
  • Portable Sound System - In the event the sound system currently used in the conference room would no longer be available.
Newark Chrysalis Gathering
The Newark Community is once again hosting a Chrysalis Gathering on Tuesday, June 24th.  All Board members were encouraged to attend if possible.

Book Table
Ron England was contacted via email by Nashville Emmaus/Chrysalis and asked if we would like to participate in a Book Table Pilot program.  It is free of charge so Ron put us on the list to participate and  we will be recieving a Book Table kit to use and evaluate during our winter flights.
