Ron opened the meeting with a devotion and each board member was asked to respond.
Welcome of New Board Members
The following individuals were welcomed to the Board:
Amanda Hickman - Columbus Representative
Jeff Rings - Kitchen Coordinator Laurel Rings - Flight
Treasurer Report
Actual financial report available upon request.
Discussion:
The Boy's weekend was profitable.
A final decision will be made concerning the OSU Concession Stand at the April meeting. In preparation for that discussion Bob Herington will find out if a smaller stand is available. This information was unavailable in time for the March meeting.
Lay Director Reports
Cinda Borden and Phil Campbell reported that the weekends were a thrill to lead and one of the most meaningful experiences they have had. Both were pleased with their teams response and have recommendations that they will pass on to the Leadership board members respectfully.
Both were very excited to have to have full weekends and even with full Flight/Journey's felt the move of the conference room for Sunday Morning, while not preferable, worked well.
Website Update
It was explained that Corene continues to review the website for updates. Some pictures have been provided, but have yet to be changed on the web site. Ron will reach out to Corene to see what the estimated time for the updated website and to see if she desires assistance.
The many of the board members mentioned that the updating of the website was timely and appreciated.
Discussion of FaceBook and My Space was held. The final decision was that the board will not adopt an "Official site/page" we should allow the "unofficial" sites to continue encouraging the youth to use this media to promote Chrysalis.
Kitchen Coordinator Update
Jeff Rings is our new Kitchen Coordinator. Jeff shared with us his joy to have the Lord use his gifts and talents to lead the Chrysalis Kitchen and to continue the success it has had. While he is looking forward to what the Lord has in store it is not his desire to come in and change the way the community is used to the Kitchen running.
Ron England went on to challenge the Board that while no major changes are planned for the kitchen, that no one person will do everything the same. It was also pointed out that Jeff would be the overall Kitchen Coordinator and Board representative that Jeff would have "Day Coordinators" that he would be overseeing and each Day Coordinator would be the person overseeing the day's activities. It is important that the Board support this transition with a positive attitude and being available as much as possible during the upcoming weekends.
ClownCollege
The ClownCollege is to be held on Saturday, April 5, 9AM - 3PM. All board members were encouraged to attend if possible. A reminder is being sent, and has had a good initial response. A suggestion was made to reach out to Young People directly to remind them that you do not have to be an adult to serve as a clown. This will be included in the March eNewsletter.
Stonybrook Inventory
The inventory went well. With everyone coming to support we were able to complete the inventory quickly and allowed us to ensure everything was stored correctly and accounted for to be ready for the summer weekends.
New Business
Archive Email -- Ron England brought to the board's attention that the email system we are currently using provides an opportunity to archive the email and allowing a link to the archived mail be provided to the website enabling users to refer back to the archived email. The agreed we should archive the emails with a cost of $5.00 per month.
4th Friday/Hoots -- it was decided that a 4th Friday/Hoot would be planned on May 16, 7:00PM. Individuals will be approached about availability of their property for a bonfire. |
