Your Private Invitation to My Downtown Loft & the First...

SATURDAY MORNING CONVERSATION SERIES
with...
Co-Creators & Visionaries

Three months ago, I moved into a historic loft in downtown LA (in fact, Hitchcock filmed Vertigo here). My life is bursting with aliveness, fun, and phenomenally creative people. What an adventure!

I'm so inspired that I've decided to do a series using my loft as a base. I wanted you - the co-creators of LA - to have an experience with some of the women visionaries of downtown.

This is not a publicized series. You won't find it on Facebook or Craigslist. I am ONLY INVITING those of you on my list. Frankly, I don't want strangers in my home.

I CAN ACCOMMODATE ONLY 20. The monthly 4-part series includes a buffet breakfast in my loft and then we'll have four different conversation adventures in different downtown locales.

View this as a Saturday morning salon series, but with a twist. A way to leave the world behind, and have an adventure - together.

Saturday, April 18, 10-12:30 - STACIE CHAIKENStacey Chaiken

Founder and artistic director of "What's the Story?" a downtown -based workshop for artists. Her solo play Looking for Louie has toured widely. Her new solo play, The Dig: Death, Genesis & the Double Helix presents in New York in June. Fulbright Scholar, member of the performance faculty at USC.

We'll be visiting Stacie's loft at the extraordinary Higgins building across from the LA Times. I will interview her on how "our story" influences our lives, open discussion to follow.

Saturday, May 16, 10-12:30pm - READINGS ON THE ROOF with

JANET BLAKE and BETTY GOLDSTEIN

Janet BlakeMy upstairs neighbors Amy Hutchinson (casting director for Top Chef and Top Design) and songwriter Amanda Randall have graciously offered their to die for loft, with a rooftop view of downtown LA for a reading. I've invited two extremely talented women - Janet Blake - a performer turned top studio executive at Disney, who is now back to performing - and Betty Goldstein, a gifted, funny writer to give readings. Janet will perform True Betty GoldsteinBeauty and Betty a story of a relationship gone south.

We'll be visiting Amy and Amanda's amazing loft. After Janet and Betty perform, there will be an open discussion "on life and where it takes you."

Saturday, June 20, 10-12:30pm - JULIE RICOJulie Rico

What would downtown be like without Julie Rico? She's a fixture here. "My life has been an evolution of energy." From masker on the assembly line at Ford Motor Co. to Exec Producer of the extremely popular LA Art Fest in the arts district, she has come a long way. Julie currently owns the Julie Rico Gallery and her restaurant, Weeneez, a local's favorite, for the best hot dogs. Both are located at 500 S. Spring St. She's getting ready to open 10 hot dog carts around downtown.

We'll be visiting the Julie Rico Gallery and Weeneez. I will interview Julie on what it's like to follow your vision. Then, we'll smooze and talk.

Saturday, July 18, 10-12:30pm - MONSTER KAT

Monster Kat
Recently featured in the LA Times, Monster Kat (Kat Halsey) is the visionary behind 'Handmade Store On A Bike!' a project to promote the use of bicycles as a business, bring handmade "stuff" back into vogue, encourage and support local artists, and highlight another extension of recycling! She's known for her fabulous handcrafted items and monster hats. She tools around downtown LA selling her wares. She's also in grad school.

We'll meet up with Kat in Chinatown. I will interview her about what it's like to be well "Monster Kat," and where she's headed (literally and figuratively). Q&A to follow.
