Greetings!
How many songs can you think of that either have the word September in the song or title? Aaaannnd Go!
I know I always think about "September" from Earth, Wind & Fire, "September" from Daughtry, and Willie Nelson's "September". Quite a range of music I know. What else does September mean to you? I remember going back to school, monsoon storms winding down and Labor Day parties.

It's going to be that time again...
 I know it doesn't feel like it quite yet, but Fall really is just around the corner. And that means its also time to make your neighbors jealous of your lush, green, beautiful winter lawn! Yes, it is time to get started or at least start planning.
In order to be successful, it's most important to begin preparation for overseeding in mid-September to mid-October. During that time, gradually lower the mowing heights over successive mowing cycles until reachin a 3/4" height with a rotary mower or 1/2" height with a reel mower. It is safe to plant your winter grass seed when the night time temperature is consistently 70 degrees or lower (I can't wait 'til then! Windows open at night!) Plant your seed any earlier and you will cook the grass seed during the day and it just won't grow. I remember exactly where I was and what I was doing the morning of September 11, 2001 as if it were yesterday, as I'm sure you do as well. I also remember the feeling of just wanting to DO something. Join me in the 9/11 Tribute Movement and share your "I will". Let good deeds unite us on 9/11.

FREE Recycling!
YES! We still accept recycling items! In fact, we can take MORE than we ever could have before! The small recycling centers in each of our stores were costing us thousands of dollars a year per store to actually recycle. We have found a local recycling company who, for now, will accept recylables from us for FREE. This has allowed us to accept more types of items such as tv's, computer monitors and other electronics. Great for everyone! In order to collect these items, we decided to hold monthly recyling events in each of our stores. Don't worry, if you have recyclables and you're not near your local Paul's Ace Hardware holding the event, bring it to the one you are closest to! We'll make sure it goes where it needs to!
