Where in the U.S. is Kate McAllister?

On October 25, State Legislative Field Representative, Kate McAllister attended Ground Rounds at both Cooper University Hospital in Camden, NJ, and Trinitas Regional Medical Center in Elizabeth, NJ, where she presented an advocacy and media training presentation. At both locations, Ms. McAllister delivered her training to mixed audiences of medical students, residents, and APA general members. She focused on the importance of lobbying and coalition building, how to effectively communicate with legislators, and grassroots and state resources available to APA members. Ms. McAllister was accompanied by New Jersey Psychiatric Association lobbyist, Tim Martin of MBI-GluckShaw, who also gave a presentation on grassroots strategies specific to the state of New Jersey and offered some information regarding the current psychologist prescribing bill.

If you are interested in having Kate visit your state meeting to deliver advocacy, coalition, and/or media training, please contact her at kmcallister@psych.org or 703-907-8575.
