I am delighted to announce that Lisa Byers, General Manager of our office in Fremantle, Western Australia, has just been named "Manager of the Year" at the Travelscene Owners-Managers Conference in Buenos Aires, beating all other states in Australia with some stiff and well respected competition. Well done Lisa, we are very proud of you.

QANTAS FREQUENT FLYER LAUNCHES iPHONE APPLICATION
Qantas has released a Qantas Frequent Flyer iPhone Application to download via the Apple iTunes Store free of charge. 
The Qantas Frequent Flyer iPhone App is an exciting new tool that can be used worldwide by Members to get instant access to their points balance, explore the many ways they can earn and use their points, and help them find the locations of Qantas Frequent Flyer partners.
Key features include:
- Get instant access to your points balance on the move and see how you're tracking and where you've recently earned points
- Use the built in GPS features of the iPhone to easily locate the nearest Qantas Frequent Flyer partners. Whether you're looking to fly, stay in a hotel, eat out, go shopping or hire a car, hundreds of partners are at your fingertips.
- Discover what your points could get you and set yourself a points goal accordingly. The app will track your progress and let you know when you've reached your goal.

HAPPY 90TH BIRTHDAY QANTAS
On 16 November 2010, Qantas celebrates 90 years as Australia's national carrier, and one of the world's leading airlines. During November, Qantas will be honouring their past, celebrating their achievements and looking to the future. US SECURE FLIGHT DATA COLLECTION EFFECTIVE 1 NOVEMBER 2010
 From 1 November 2010, all passengers travelling by air into, out of or within the USA must have Secure Flight Passenger Data in their booking at least 72 hours prior to travel, or they will be denied boarding.
The following Secure Flight Passenger Data (SFPD) will need to be provided to the airline when making a reservation:
- Full name (as it appears on government-issued I.D. when traveling)
- Date of birth
- Gender

VIRGIN BLUE GROUP ANNOUNCES MAJOR NEW PARTNERSHIP WITH ETIHAD
The Virgin Blue Group and Etihad Airways have recently signed an agreement establishing a commercial partnership that will enable Virgin Blue's international arm, V Australia, to launch direct services to Abu Dhabi in 2011, and the two airlines to offer a joint network of more than 100 destinations.
From 24 February 2011 V Australia will operate three Sydney-Abu Dhabi services per week using its new fleet of three-class Boeing 777-300ER. Virgin Blue Group customers can access Etihad's network of 65 destinations across North America, Europe, Asia, the Middle East and the Subcontinent.

GARUDA LAUNCHES ONBOARD VISA PROCESSING
Garuda Indonesia has introduced visa onboard processing facilities on all direct flights from Sydney to Jakarta, allowing passengers to fast track through immigration, and avoid currency exchanges and notorious airport queues.
Garuda Indonesia passengers taking advantage of this service will have their visa processed by immigration officials onboard the aircraft and payment will be processed when checking-in at Sydney airport.
Garuda Indonesia hopes to extend the facility to other services departing Australia soon. |
