Dear Titan Parents and Guardians:
 
Many of you have already heard about the tragic death of one of our students earlier this week.
 
This is always a difficult situation for any school community. It is hard on both students and staff. We will have extra counselors available on campus throughout the week to help students with the emotional impact of this tragic event.  
 
We are encouraging students to discuss their feelings about this loss. While we have support services in place at our school, please know that a student may exhibit signs of grief in the safety of their home. We encourage you to talk with your student about his or her feelings, to listen and to be supportive.
 
As always, the safety and welfare of our students is always our first priority. Our entire administrative team and the entire SUSD community are here to help in any way we can.
