Students for Life of America
Dear Pro-Life Activist,

At the beginning of this New Year, I'd like to take a few moments to thank you for all that you did in 2009 to save unborn lives on your campus in and your community and also update you on how Students for Life of America (SFLA) has been continuing our work to help our pro-life generation.

In November of 2009, I received an e-mail from a student in California, Meghan, who I worked with over the summer to start a pro-life group at her college. She forwarded me an e-mail that she had received from a young woman on her campus which I pasted below:

"Hi. My name is Beth. I attend (school name omitted), and I came by your booth last week. I am 21 and had an abortion on May 1, 2009. I was stressing about how I could take care of it and what my church would think, so I let this girl from my church influence me not to keep the baby. I aborted it. This has been an issue I have had to deal with even to this day because deep down I wanted to keep the baby. I did the wrong thing. I struggle with this daily, sometimes I'm fine and others days I'm bad. But to help me cope and help others I want to be apart of your group and help you with anything you need help with. I can make a change now and stand up for the babies that can't speak for themselves. Also my goal now is to prevent others from making the same mistake that I made."

As you can probably imagine, this e-mail affected me greatly. As it illustrates just what the consequence of our in-action is: a wounded mother and a dead child.

As I re-read Beth's e-mail, I couldn't help but think if only I had been able to help Meghan start her group just one semester prior we might have been able to save Beth's baby. Her e-mail reminded me of why we, as pro-lifers, work so hard and with a sense of urgency in everything we do.

Just like you and your campus group, SFLA had a very busy fall semester training students at 9 different weekend conference/workshops gathering students from various campuses in New York, California, Louisiana, Illinois, Tennessee, and Alabama.

And because of our staff's tireless dedication traveling across the United States, we started 30 new campus pro-life groups, some in states where there weren't any pro-life groups before! This December, the number of active campus pro-life groups climbed above 500!

You aren't alone!
Today, there are over 523 pro-life campus groups across America!

I think the proof of the excitement and energy in our youth pro-life movement is the fact that our National Conference to be held this January, sold out the 2nd week in November with 800 students! As I write today, we are at 1200 registrations for our national conference, 400 more than last year with still 3 weeks left to go!

In January, SFLA will host the largest youth pro-life conference in the world!

Looking ahead to the 2010 spring semester, Students for Life of America is busy preparing to go back onto the campuses across the United States.

But we need your help.

As you know, pro-abortion forces led by Planned Parenthood know they are losing this generation, and they are stepping up their efforts to make sure college campuses remain hostile to pro-life students and friendly to abortion.

We need you to stand with us in 2010 to start, re-activate, and train
the pro-life group at your school.

Please contact us today for personalized help in starting a pro-life group at your school or simply to seek our advice on what events you should plan for the 2010 spring semester. No task or question is too small.

Students for Life of America can provide you with:
And everything we do for you is absolutely FREE!

Students for Life of America exists to help you every step of the way so you can save those babies like Beth's.

Thank you, and on behalf of the SFLA staff, I'd like to wish you a very Happy New Year!
