| AMP Conducts Job Analysis for Real Estate Salesperson and Broker |
AMP is in the process of updating its national real estate salesperson and broker licensure examinations through a new job analysis study. As part of our commitment to offering a high quality examination program, we conduct a new study approximately every five years to ensure that our examination content is reflective of current practice in all the states we serve, as well as across the nation. When asked at a party or by a fellow passenger on an airplane what I do for a living, I sometimes take a chance and respond that I am a psychometrician. Most of the time that ends the conversation, but every once in a while someone pretends to be interested and asks what that means. That's when I might answer that the word is formed by two parts, and the parts convey the basic meaning: 'metric' refers to measurement and 'psycho' to the mind, so psychometrics could be said to refer to measurement of the mind. A much better definition, and one that I now use as often as possible, was included in a New York Times article: "Psychometrics, one of the most obscure, esoteric and cerebral professions in America, is also one of the hottest." AMP has recently welcomed two new clients: the Washington Department of Licensing and the Missouri Real Estate Appraisers Commission. We now provide real estate licensure testing services for 11 jurisdictions and administer the AQB National Uniform Appraiser Examinations in 12 jurisdictions. | AMP Staff Spotlight |
Quality people are the essence of AMP quality service. In this and future issues of the Regulator Report, we will spotlight just a few of these dedicated team members. Bill Hogan, ME, AMP Senior Vice President of Marketing and Business Products, has retired after 16 years with AMP. With over 30 years of experience in finance, management and measurement, he was the strategic leader for the marketing efforts of the company, including the development and implementation of the business and marketing plan. Prior to joining AMP, Mr. Hogan served as vice president of the Professional Assessment Credentialing Education (PACE) division of the Psychological Corporation in San Antonio, Texas and served almost 20 years with Educational Testing Service. Over the next year, Bill will continue to act as a consultant for AMP providing his expertise and assisting with special projects. In his new-found "free time", Bill is enjoying time spent with his wife, daughter, granddaughter and dogs at his home outside of San Antonio and will continue to be active with his barbershop quartet and the Barbershop Harmony Society. AMP appreciates the years of service that Bill has offered the company and wishes him the best in all his future endeavors. Patrick Gallagher, MBA, has recently been promoted to Vice President of Sales and Marketing. Patrick has been part of the AMP team since 1993 and has held several positions within the Marketing Department. He previously served as Director of Marketing where his responsibilities included managing the marketing staff and operations, setting and tracking sales/marketing goals and initiatives and meeting specific company goals for new business development. AMP congratulates Patrick on his recent promotion and is confident his experience will allow AMP to continue to grow and find ways to better serve our clients. |
