"Romanza" is a colorful romantic expression set in a sunlit boudoir. Posed in a silk 1950's vintage evening gown, Richard captures a beautiful woman lost in a very private moment. The entire area is accentuated by a brilliant light along with rich tones of green, pink and lavender. Light and shadow are perfectly balanced as they play upon the surface of her body. A light rain earlier that day, blurred the window she is looking out and inspired the background of the painting. Without words, Richard has captured the emotion of longing, passion, and a classical pose. "Romanza" is the embodiment of feminine sensuality.
