- Have a new writer? Here are some spring story starters that look like fun.
- TheHomeschoolMom.com has a great educational resource calendar on her site. Dates of interest are noted and linked to resources to help you teach about that holiday or event. Nice!
- Supercharged Science is offering a free live science video tele-class on lights and lasers. This looks really neat. You do need to register in advance. I know we'll be taking advantage of it.
- I know I mentioned Kahn Academy in February, regarding their math lessons, but I want to point out that they offer much more. You'll find helpful lectures on finance, history, science and more. This is a great resource for older learners.
- This site is fascinating! If you're trying to save money on curriculum, check out Flexbooks at ck12.org. Here you can access free textbooks, select the sections you want and creating your own book. Then save as pdf or online book and share the access link with your students. Watch the video to see how it works.

Outdoor Observations
| |
This is a fun and easy way to add to your nature notebook, while encouraging your children to be observant. Simply create a page with the month name as the heading and a number of blank lines below. A young child could have ten lines while an older child could have 100. Your children are to fill the lines with things they see that are pertinent to that month. For example in March you might list: tulips, breezes, rain, robins, etc. Older children can be encouraged to be more specific by using phrases rather than single words.
If you're new to nature study, you can find lots of inspiration at The Outdoor Hourblog. She even has pages especially for those who are just getting started. You can find links to different notebooking pages, even several free options if you scroll down a bit.
Enjoy!
