Giving Thanks

As you know, the WBII is in the midst of a big office move. Today was blocked in my agenda for packing, to start anyway. But since we aren't actually moving until Saturday and today is the American Thanksgiving holiday, my mind is more on gratitude than moving, and I wanted to share a few thoughts on the subject with you.
Even though Thanksgiving might be most famous for Turkey and Pumpkin Pie, it is based on the tradition of giving thanks. Saying thank you might not always (or ever) make it to the top of your urgent priority list, but perhaps we could all take this cue to apply the practice of giving thanks in both our personal and professional lives? What's good for you is also good for business. Why not take a few minutes to let people know you appreciate them?
Sometimes we assume that people already know how much they are appreciated. Don't take it for granted. Say it anyway. Sometimes simply saying thank you doesn't seem like enough. It's a start. Say it anyway. Sometimes it feels like the moment has passed and it's too late. Better late than never. Say it anyway!
Suddenly, my overdue "Thank Yous" seem extremely urgent! Is it the spirit of Thanksgiving or a case of prolonging the packing procrastination? Both, I'm sure.
Obviously my priority shift (away from packing) will impact the kind and brave souls who have volunteered to help with the WBII move this Saturday. Don't worry, I will be thanking them with a traditional Turkey Feast (and pies of course) at the end of the day, and no it's not too late to volunteer! Thank you for all that you do.
Happy Thanksgiving, Suzy
