Message from the President

May was a busy month for IRI. It started with our fourth CTO Forum. We changed a few things this year to allow for more people to be invited to this popular event.  We had two hosts --  Boeing and USG. There were more than 20 CTOs in attendance who are continuing to develop their relationships via social networking.  We will continue this program at the same time, first week in May, next year. If you know of any CTOs interested in participating, let me know.

The Board of Directors met within a fortnight of the CTO Forum in Philadelphia. The Board always meets just prior to the Annual Meeting. (More on the Annual Meeting below.) Among the agenda items for Board discussion were the Thought Leadership Task Force and the Membership Business Model Task Force. Both of these were established to address issues illuminated in our Strategic Plan. These are: to provide IRI members with access to the latest thought in innovation leadership; and to develop suggestions aimed at helping IRI better reflect today's management of innovation. The Task Force aims to provide the Board of Directors with suggestions during the summer meeting.

If you didn't attend the Annual Meeting, I'm sure you've heard what a great event it was. The speakers were fantastic and the networking among the best its ever been. (This was the largest IRI meeting in 12 years.) It was exciting to just walk between sessions and hear all the buzz. Congratulations to the Program Committee for putting together such a great program. I can't wait to see everyone again in New Orleans this November for our Member Summit
