Peter's Power Play
Dear Santa,
I do not ask for much for myself, I just wish for four things to make the IT world a better place:
1. I wish for people to stop talking about ITIL implementations. They should not implement ITIL, they should look for improvements in their delivery of the services. We can use ITIL, CobiT or any other framework to guide these improvements.
2. I wish that vendors stop selling Configuration Management Databases. Too much goes wrong with these projects and make our life difficult.
3. I wish that the ITIL v3 courses syllabi are going to be improved, so that we have a chance to deliver something that our students (and trainers) enjoy
4. I wish that organizations will understand the importance of management of change around IT Service Improvements.
Santa, I know it might not be that easy to accomplish all of this, so if isn't possible, can you at least get me an Apple Macbook Pro? I need a better tool to do my work. Oops,
did I just fall into the tool trap? I meant - I do not need anything. I
will work with the tools I have and just change my processes and behavior. (But a Macbook Pro is a really cool toy. Wink, Wink, Nudge,
Nudge)
Oh, just one more thing, I wish that the economy will get better in the next year, but the gas prices should stay the same (I can dream, can't I?)
Change is an art!
