A 20-minute documentary by Actual Industries, The Heritage Pig Project relates the journey of three Red Wattle pigs that were purchased by OCI. Two of the pigs were pen raised and one was pasture raised as part of an effort to educate the students on issues of farming, food ethics, and ultimately, flavor.
Here is the schedule of the evening's events:
6 PM: Small porcine-related bites from OCI and beer and wine from project partners Upright Brewing and Chehalem Winery. 6:30 PM: The screening begins 7 PM: Q&A with the project's founders and key participants, as follows:
To RSVP, click here. Tickets are on a sliding scale, from $5 to $15. All proceeds support Ecotrust's Farm to School program, which works to bring healthy, regionally grown products to the school lunchroom, educate students about agriculture and support regional farmers.
