Big news about EZ Pass if you use the George Washington Bridge, Lincoln Tunnel, or Holland Tunnel to cross NJ and NY.
Rates are Increasing
$12.00 Cash or EZ Pass NY (a 50% increase of $4)
$9.50 Peak Hours with EZ Pass NJ (a 19% increase of $1.50)
$7.50Off-Peak Hours with EZ Pass NJ (a 25% increase of $1.50)
Peak Hours are Longer
Peak Hours, when you pay a higher rate, just got longer.
Monday – Friday 6-10am & 4–8pm (used to be 6–9am & 4–7pm)
Saturday – Sunday 11am – 9pm (used to be 12 – 8pm)
You'll Pay the $12 Cash Toll if you have EZ Pass NY
That's right, if you bought your EZ Pass from NY (ie. it says MTA on the back of it), then you will pay the $12 Cash rate to cross from NY into NJ.
And all you people with an EZ Pass from New Jersey – you'll be paying the Cash rate on the East River bridges and tunnels managed by the MTA. That includes Brooklyn-Battery Tunnel, Queens-Midtown Tunnel, Bronx Whitestone Bridge, Throgs Neck Bridge, and RFK (formerly Triboro) Bridge.
