NO STOPPING, NO STANDING, NO PARKING |
 |
Greetings!
Think you know the difference between No Standing, No Stopping, and No Parking? We've all seen the signs and for many of us, they still don't make sense. So we went to our NYC experts and found some great, and simple, explanations of what these signs and rules mean.
 |
No Parking means no parking or waiting for someone, but you can stop to load & unload and to let people out of the car. Think of it as the "drop-off" rule. |
 |
No Standing means you can stop to let people out of the car or pick up someone who is already there, but no waiting for someone or loading & unloading. Remember it as "people only".

What does "No Stopping" mean?

| New Subway and Bus Fares |
 |
We're sure you’ve realized that since June 28th, it's costing you $.25, or 10% more, for each ride on the NYC subway or bus system. Had the State Legislature not approved a $2.26 billion bailout of the city's mass transit system, the increases would have been 30%. |
 |
Here are the new fares:
- $2.25 One-way Subway or Bus Ride
- $8.25 Unlimited 1-Day Pass
- $89 Unlimited 1 Month Pass
For all you drivers out there, bridge and tunnel fares also increased. It’s $.50 more for cash and $.42 more with E-ZPassNY for the Triboro/RFK, Whitestone, Throgs Neck Bridges and the Brooklyn-Battery and Queens Midtown Tunnels.
Find out all the new fares.
