World Bank Group Impact Evaluations

In the study, IEG examines the relevance, quality, and influence of World Bank and International Finance Corporation (IFC) impact evaluations (IEs) on operational, institutional, and knowledge priorities by examining their experience throughout the IE production cycle, from initiation to implementation to dissemination and uptake.

IEG PRODUCTS Poverty case studies

The Independent Evaluation Group's evaluation, Assessing IFC's Poverty Focus and Results, aimed to contribute to the enhancement of IFC's poverty focus and its effectiveness for greater poverty impact. Findings from field studies included in the report illustrate that success, or lack thereof, is a result of the manner in which each project addressed the fulfillment of a need.

Climate Invesment Funds (CIF)
The Climate Investment Funds (CIF) are a pair of funds to help developing countries pilot low-emissions and climate-resilient development projects. These CIF projects are executed by the African Development Bank, the Asian Development Bank, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, the Inter-American Development Bank, the International Finance Corporation, and the World Bank.

An independent evaluation of the operations of the funds will be carried out by the independent evaluation departments of these multilateral development banks.

Watch the CIF Evaluation website for further developments.
