NH SBDC announces new course:  Financing a Business in NH

 

The NH SBDC will launch its new online course, Financing a Business in NH, at the June 23 Governor and Council meeting at the state house in Concord.  Sponsored by the Community Bankers Association of New Hampshire, this 90-minute course offers financing resources and tools for NH business owners and helps entrepreneurs  navigate the maze of funding options available in NH.

Award Winners and Champions
 

NH SBDC hosted SBA's 2010 Awards Luncheon on May 13, honoring a dozen small business award winners and champions.  Congratulations to all award winners and:

     - NH SBDC's Nashua Regional Center headed by
       Hollis McGuire, received the SBA's 2010 NH
       Small Business Development Center Service
       Excellence and Innovation award. 

 

     -Erle Pierce, Pierce Public Affairs, Inc., and SBDC

       Advisory Board member, was awarded the 2010
       Advocacy Award for his support of the SBDC.

Governor John Lynch has signed into law his new, innovative jobs initiative aimed at helping workers and companies recover from the recession, avoid layoffs, help unemployed workers return to work and provide training to help workers get new jobs.

The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) and Google announced a new partnership and unveiled "Tools for Online Success," an array of online resources and training designed to help small business owners harness technology to grow their businesses.  The "Tools for Online Success" site features tutorials, video testimonials, and tips from savvy small business people who have leveraged the web to become more efficient, more cost-effective, and more successful.
 
The OSHA Education Center at 175 Ammon Drive in Manchester, NH will host a NEW New Hampshire General Industry Roundtable on the second Tuesday of each month, 8 am to 10 am. Check out the website in the near future for details on topics and dates. Sponsored by PSNH.
 
As of April 22, 2010, federal law requires that:
   - Renovation firms be certified under EPA's Renovation,
     Repair and Painting Rule
   - Individuals be trained in lead-safe work practices
   - Training providers be accredited by EPA
