SBA's NH District Office is now accepting nominations for its 2010 Small Business Awards, including the New Hampshire Small Business Person of the Year. Preliminary nomination letters are due no later than November 20th.
 
The U.S. Small Business Administration is reminding businesses in New Hampshire that Economic Injury Disaster Loans are still available to small businesses economically impacted by the severe ice storm that occurred December 11, 2008. The deadline is December 5th. 
 
The NH Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEP) announced the results of the first national survey of next generation manufacturing firms, including 74 in NH. The results help identify what NH firms must do to survive global competition.
 
The Business & Industry Association (BIA) of New Hampshire, in partnership with the New Hampshire Medical Society (NHMS), recently launched a new statewide prescription drug assistance program that makes available free prescription drug cards for all New Hampshire residents. The New Hampshire Rx Card offers savings of up to 75 percent on prescription drugs purchased at retail pharmacies throughout the state and across the country. Average savings are 30 percent.

Environmental Management Program
 
The Environmental Management Program, located at the Manchester Regional Office of the NH SBDC, helps you develop best management practices to achieve sustainability.

FREE Workshop for Auto Body/Collision Repair
The N.H. Dept. of Environmental Services and the NH SBDC will offer a morning workshop for auto body/collision repair shops. The workshop will cover new regulations affecting paint stripping and spray coating operations as well as the January 9, 2010 deadline requiring all auto body shops to notify EPA that they perform such work.

This award honors outstanding innovations by New Hampshire's high tech companies. Product of the Year "Judges' Awards" were granted to four high tech products, with the ultimate NH High Tech Product of the Year Award determined at the awards ceremony.

The Amoskeag Business Incubator's "Ask-the-Expert" for November is Anne Scheer. Anne is an attorney at Devine, Millimet & Branch where she is a member of the firm's Labor & Employment and Employee Benefits Practice Group and focuses on labor relations and employment issues, representing clients in all areas of employee relations, collective bargaining and contract administration. 
 
Presented by Business NH Magazine, the event will feature speakers who will discuss the state of health care in NH and present the consequences that national health care legislation will have for NH business owners.
