Depart from negativity, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it.   Psalms 34:14

In today's world there is a lot of uncertainty and fear. We also know that Jesus dealt with this when he walked the earth. There were many wars and great suffering that went on in that time just like today. Many of the diseases and challenges they had have been eradicated and we are grateful. Much has changed - we now have many modern conveniences they could only dream about. We enjoy indoor plumbing, warm houses and many other creature comforts that they did not have. We have made many advances in the outer world.

The reason for much of our suffering then as well as today is the struggles that are common to all.   We continue to deal with the same inner challenges that Jesus spoke about over 2000 years ago.

This Sunday we will discuss some of the ideas and principles he taught that are helpful in soothing our inner conflict. See bullets below...

How to:

  • Make peace with the inner judge
  • Release the death grip on your life.
  • Find a calm place where you can rest
  • Bring light to dark places
  • Make peace in the heart

I look forward to seeing you at one of our services this weekend!

Peace within,

James

Our photo guy, Steve Lipe, will be taking pictures for name tags before & after the 10:00 AM service & before the 11:30 AM service this Sunday the 24th.  Meet him at the brick wall in the sanctuary!

brandingOPPORTUNITY EXTENDED!

8 of our current 9 picnic tables have been adopted!  We have someone that would like to adopt half of the remaining 9th table and needs a "table buddy".  However, 9 will not be the final number of tables needed!  The pavilion team is re-measuring the pavilion  AND they are considering requests to have picnic tables in various other sights around the property, like the playground and labyrinth.

So, if you'd like to adopt 1/2 of the remaining 9th table or adopt a full table and have it branded with your name or business name, let the church office know.

We are looking for volunteers to build picnic tables in parallel with our picnic pavilion project.  We have the plans, materials and equipment available.  Anyone that has an interest in fundamental wood working please contact Jay Savage for details at 864-903-3375 or jaysusansavage@earthlink.net

Work schedule can be flexible to suit volunteers' needs.
