Controlled release technologies for non-surgical sterilants
Brown tabbyOn April 17-19, 2012, ACC&D convened a think tank on the application of controlled release technologies to the delivery of contraceptive agents to cats and dogs.

"One of the most important knowledge gaps in companion animal non-surgical contraception is not the absence of drug or vaccine antigen candidates but rather how to best optimize delivery of these lead candidates to the animal in a manner that is safe and efficacious. This ACC&D think tank summary does a great job of identifying current and next generation delivery technologies that could be leveraged to close this knowledge gap".

Effectiveness of the pigeon contraceptive in the field

Newly released case studies of OvoControl P include use at a college campus, hospital, and hotel, among others. And an ABC news affiliate reported on the successful use of OvoControl in a marketplace in Honolulu, where a 60% population reduction was observed after only 15 months.

We hope that increasing evidence of the effectiveness of OvoControl P will lead more property owners and managers to consider this humane method of pigeon population control!
