Greetings!
The theme of our library director, Rene Greenleaf, is "connect." Hammond Public Library's Youth Services staff is busy preparing for our Summer Reading Program. For much of May, staff will be visiting schools, connecting with students and teachers to promote Summer Reading.
HPL recently connected with Hammond Adult Education students as we explained how to get library cards, and introduced students and teachers to library resources that can help prepare for college or careers.
Staff also connected with parents at a Headstart open house. Next week the library will be represented at the annual meeting of Regional Federal Credit Union.
Not only do we connect at community events, we are active in the Lakeshore Chamber of Commerce, Whiting-Robertsdale Chamber of Commerce, Downtown Hammond Council, Hammond Education Foundation, Hammond Reads, Hammond Hispanic Community Committee and Woodmar-Hammond Kiwanis. Several staff members are also active in regional and state library groups.
Stay tuned as we introduce still more ways to connect with you! |
