Greetings!
For more than 35 years, Greater Hammond Community Services has provided Thanksgiving baskets to area residents in need. And again this year, all HPL locations accept food drive donations. Donations of nonperishable food items are accepted at all HPL locations from Oct. 25 through Nov. 13. Items must not be expired, and cans must not be rusted or dented. Labels must be intact. Monetary donations are also accepted. HPL is pleased to connect with our community. Please note that this is not a Food for Fines drive.
Fines will not be dismissed in return for food donations. ______________________________________ Tutoring Available:
Students at Calumet College of St. Joseph provide free tutoring in reading and math for K-12. Sessions are for 30 minutes. Space is limited. Friends/Historical Society meeting

The History of the Circus in Indiana is presented by Kreig Adkins,
author of Peru: Circus Capital of the World, and Richard Lytle, author of
The Great Circus Train Wreck of 1918: Tragedy Along the Indiana Lakeshore.
The meeting is free and open to the public. The authors sign copies of their books,
which will be available for purchase.
4th annual Books to Bridge the Region
This year's adult selection is Bowling Across America: 50 States in Rented Shoes by Mike Walsh. Mr. Walsh speaks at two free presentations that are open to the public:
