Family Night: "We the People: A More Perfect Union" features the book, Si, se Puede! (Yes, We Can!) by Diana Cohn.
Thurs., Sept. 23 at 6:30 p.m., Main Library:
Ramon and Trisha Arredondo present "Maria's Journey," based on their new book by Indiana Historical Society Press. Ramon's mother, Maria Perez, is born during the Mexican Revolution; enters into an arranged marriage at age 14 to Miguel Arredondo; and immigrates to the United States, eventually settling in East Chicago. After the presentation, the authors will sign copies of their books, which will be available for purchase.

A concert disguised as a documentary, Calle 54 celebrates Latin jazz with performances by the late Tito Puente; Gato Barbieri, Paquito D'Rivera, Bebo Valdes and others. Spanish with English subtitles.
HPL now offers Wi-Fi!  As of September 1, all locations have wireless access. You'll need a laptop computer or other mobile device equipped with a wireless network card that supports the WiFi 801.22g or 802.11b networking standards. You'll also need any software or drivers for your wireless network card. At each location you'll find more information about connecting to the HPL Wireless Network.
