Greetings!
A few important points: 1) Summer Reading wraps up today at branch locations, and Saturday at Main Library. To end the Youth Summer Reading Program, each location hosts a Pirate Party on Friday, July 30: 1 p.m. at Main Library 1 p.m. at Howard Branch 1:30 p.m. at E. B. Hayward Branch Don't forget to bring your reading logs to receive credit. For those who signed up for the Summer Reading Program at either the E. B. Hayward or Howard Branches, reading logs should be turned in by Friday, July 30 at 4 p.m. For those who signed up at Main Library, logs are due by Saturday, July 31 at 4 p.m. _______________________________
2) Artists age 55 and above: the 20th annual Senior Art Exhibit runs from Sept. 1-Oct. 22. Works may be brought to Main Library between Aug. 16-20. See details below.

3) Starting with the Sept. 2010 issue, Bookends will be mailed only to members of Friends of the Library. This is being done to save money and be environmentally friendly. These options are available: - If you join the Friends, you'll receive Bookends as a benefit of membership (see the application at the bottom of this e-newsletter).
- Anyone may also view Bookends via our website (you must have Adobe Acrobat, a free software program, installed on your computer).
- Anyone may pick up a current Bookends at any HPL location.
- Anyone may receive this free e-newsletter, HPL eXTRA! twice a month. Just sign up on our library homepage.
