Youth Program: MAKE A SPLASH - READ
Youth have two separate programs.
- LISTENERS are for children who are read to by a parent, sibling or caregiver. Listeners will have 50 books read to them. At the completion of every 10 books, they receive a prize, and a grand prize at the completion of 50 books.
- READERS are for children who read on their own. Readers read books worth 1 to 3 points each, depending on the number of pages. After every 5 points, Readers may choose a prize, and at the completion of 20 points, they receive a reading medal.

Teen Program: MAKE WAVES for teens in grades 7-12. Teens entering 7th grade can enter either the Youth or Teen program, but not both. You must have a valid HPL card.
After you read 5 books, you're asked to write a few sentences about one of the books you read. You'll then receive either a rubber ducky or a candy bar, and your name is entered into a drawing for a $20 gift card. Drawings are at each location on June 11, June 25, July 9 & July 23.
At the end of the program, drawings are held at each location for one iPod shuffle and a "Make Waves" tote bag filled with goodies. Additional details are available at sign-up.

Adult Program: WATER YOUR MIND for age 18 and older with a valid HPL card. Books and audiobooks must be checked out from HPL and read between June 1-July 31. You must read 7 books to complete a reading sheet, and you may complete as many sheets as you wish.
For every sheet completed, your name is entered for the drawing. The more sheets you complete, the better your chances of winning. All names will be placed together for a grand finale drawing at the Main Library.
