Our Majestic King
August 17, 2010
Greetings!

Greetings from Nairobi, Kenya!

Bwana Asifiwe! (Praise the Lord in Kiswahili)

It is late in the evening as I write. In California you are experiencing mid-day. Our bodies have adjusted to the 10 hour time change but I have been excited and busy in prayer.

Today has been a particularly long day since I have been up since 3:30am Africa time and it is now 11:30pm on Monday night. Please continue to prayer for strength and wisdom as we follow God. We had a full and fruitful day today and I will attempt to keep you updated in other posts and the main blog about Africa at www.covenantcs.net.

As I pondered what to share, the Lord impressed upon me His greatness, majesty and splendor. We don't think about that enough. Often we are stuck in the "muck and mire" of life and we fail to grasp the big picture. The big picture is that you and I serve a great and majestic King that not only saved our souls through His abundant mercies but will someday call us unto Himself for fellowship that is eternal! What a great, mighty and compassionate God we serve!

Today, I simply want to encourage you to look at God through the gateway of His majesty. If even it is for a short time, I beseech you to reflect on God's power, might, dominion and majesty. He is the Creator of Heaven and earth and Our God, King, Lord and Master. May we give Him the reverence He alone is due.

David Describes God's Majesty

10 David praised the LORD in the presence of the whole assembly, saying, "Praise be to you, O LORD, God of our father Israel, from everlasting to everlasting.  11 Yours, O LORD, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the majesty and the splendor, for everything in heaven and earth is yours. Yours, O LORD, is the kingdom; you are exalted as head over all.  12 Wealth and honor come from you; you are the ruler of all things. In your hands are strength and power to exalt and give strength to all.  13 Now, our God, we give you thanks, and praise your glorious name.

~ 1 Chronicles 29:10-13 ~

Choose today to give "Majesty" the Praise He alone is due!

The heart cry of David was from the depth of his soul and gushed with gratitude and worship. David knew full well what it meant to be forgiven, blessed and challenged. Through all of David's issues and victories He knew one thing was certain ... God is great and greatly to be praised! (Psalm 96:4)

Friend, God is and has been great in your life. You may not always see God working but He is there. He is there in the fire and the storm and He is there in the victory and the celebration. God reigns and He is mighty. Be encouraged today that you do not serve a dead god but a living Lord that has power and majesty to save, set free and deliver.

Today, choose to be like David - "a man after God's own heart" (Acts 13:22). Choose to worship your Majestic God. I have included a link to an incredible Delirious video on youtube and their song "Majesty". I pray you take the time to listen and reflect on God's majesty and His role in your life.

Majesty by Delirious

Here I am humbled by your Majesty
Covered by your grace so free
Here I am, knowing I'm a sinful man
Covered by the blood of the Lamb
Now I've found the greatest love of all is mine
Since you laid down your life
The greatest sacrifice
Majesty, Majesty
Your grace has found me just as I am
Empty handed, but alive in your hands
Majesty, Majesty
Forever I am changed by your love
In the presence of your Majesty
Here I am humbled by the love that you give
Forgiven so that I can forgive
Here I stand, knowing that I'm your desire
Sanctified by glory and fire
Now I've found the greatest love of all is mine
Since you laid down your life
The greatest sacrifice
