The Power of Prayer
... Our lifestyle and privilege
Greetings!

The past nine days have been extremely eventful in the Martin household. As you know from last week's devotion, Shelby was in a terrible auto accident and we are blessed to have her with us.

My last report was one of relief and thanks as Shelby was discharged without major injuries. As it turned out, the hospital misread the situation and Shelby has two fractures in her back!

We saw a neuro-surgeon specialist Monday and are awaiting results from further tests before we have substantial news. As such, Shelby is in incredible pain. Please continue to pray as it works and matters.

Prayer is not something we are called to do but a by- product of "who we are" and "whose we are". Prayer, is to those that follow God, breath, life, peace and our mode of operation.

We are so thankful for your prayers and the prayers of other saints that have lifted Shelby to God and continue to lift the ministry of Covenant before the Lord.

Without prayer, the sails of life lack wind and His power. Prayer is the wind of life and the power behind movement. Thanks for praying!

Prayer's Eternal Nature

And when he had taken it, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb. Each one had a harp and they were holding golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints.

~ Revelation 5:8 ~

May my prayer be counted as incense before You; The lifting up of my hands as the evening offering.

~ Psalm 142:2 ~

A Recipe for God's Best

Your prayers matter. Your prayers have lifted our hearts and spirits! Your prayer shakes heaven and earth and is an action that is eternal. Revelation 5:8, and again in Revelation 8:3, indicates that prayer never ceases. Prayer is a continual offering to God that proclaims our faith, trust and dependence.

Prayer, when mixed with praise, is a powerful combination and a recipe for blessing, peace, joy and deliverance. Note that the elders in Revelation 8 had a harp, used for worship and praise, in one hand and a bowl full of prayers in the other hand. This is the power move of a Christ follower ... Prayer and Praise!

Friend, remember your prayer matters. It has mattered to our family during this season as we have been lifted by your prayers and God's love and grace. It matters for eternity as prayer is a commodity of Heaven. It is amazing to ponder that your prayer is an offering presented to God that proclaims, "You can do it Lord! You alone are our source and peace."

God loves it when you pray. He sent Jesus to restore the lines of communication and it is not only our right and privilege to pray but our very nature and heritage. Keep praying. Keep asking. Keep seeking. Keep knocking. God hears, sees, feels and moves!

Thanks again for praying!
